Heading to #Barkworld 2013 with @Nutrish

Written by Rachel Phelps

I’m on the road to one of the best social media conferences – Barkworld!  No seriously, I am in the backseat of the rents car heading down the interstate to Atlanta.  Yep, there is no rest for this working dog.  Now my intern on the other hand, my dog brother Elvis, is napping in the dog bed Mom brought for our hotel room crate. I also made the mistake of allowing him to pick the radio station!

I am a proud BarkWorld alumni and have attended ALL of the conferences since the beginning.  This will be the fourth.  Back in 2010, when I attended the first BarkWorld, I was just a young pup learning about Twitter, Facebook, and blogging.  I had just started my blog a month before the first BarkWorld conference and then won a pass on Dogster.com.  I actually created my Twitter handle just two weeks before I went.  This was also the first time I ever worked with a brand.  We worked with GMC to promote their SUVs on our road trip down to Atlanta.  So needless to say, I have a very soft spot in this doggie heart for this amazing conference and the founder Denise Quashie.  I guess you can say that BarkWorld helped me to become the blogging dog I am today J.

Well, Mom told me that is enough visiting memory lane, I need to tell you about this year.  This year, I have the honor of attending BarkWorld with Nutrish as a member of their Nutrish Advocate group.  What does that mean you ask?  That means for the next couple of months I will be telling you guys about this great super premium dog food made with simple natural ingredients.  Did you know that Rachael Ray actually makes Nutrish (well, not in her TV kitchen, but you get the idea)?  She also donates the proceeds from the sales of the food to help do great things for rescues across the country.  Personally, I think Rachael Ray is awesome … and why wouldn’t she be, she has the same name as my Mom … hehehe.  So watch my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as Elvis and I tell you all about BarkWorld and what is going on.  Don’t worry, next month I’ll have a full recap of my Nutrish and BarkWorld adventures too.

One event I’m particularly looking forward to is the Nutrish Block Party on Friday night.  This will be an awesome event where I get to hang out with my friend Mrs. Alyson whom Elvis and I love.  She works with Nutrish, has a westie “brother” named Hogan, and is the awesome Nutrish party planner.  She gave me the inside scoop that there will be plenty of treats for us dogs (and humans).  Also, the first fifty humans will be making dog bowls to take home!  I already told Mom that Dad is in charge of making my bowl since he is a much better artist than her!

So, until I get a chance to fill you in on all the fun I am having at BarkWorld, here is a spiffy coupon for your pups to try out Nutrish too:  http://bricks.coupons.com/Bstart.asp?o=113601&c=NT&p=ETIXCKOV

Ok, I have to go.  Mom says to get off the computer and enjoy the scenery since we are driving through the Smokey Mountains right now.  I really want to see a bear in the forest to bark at.  I wonder if he would want to go to BarkWorld too … I haven’t seen any tweeting bears online, have you?  I think we may have room in the car … hehehe.
