Friday at Barkworld (2 of 5)

(To catch up please read part 1)

Well the parents were tired from the long drive but I made sure to get them up bright and early because darn it I wanted to go to Barkworld! So first thing daddy took me to find the dog park to “water and fertilize the lawn.” Atlantic Station thinks of everything! There were even doggie bag stations for our parents to be responsible pet parents. At the dog park I got to meet some of the locals! I have to say Atlanta dogs and their owners are very nice. I told all the doggies about Barkworld and they were jealous they weren’t attending!
At registration I was treated like a celebrity. I got to meet several dogs including Cosmo! I also finally got to woof in person with Denise Quashie the founder and event coordinator of Barkworld. People were taking pictures with me and I got to meet some ferrets. How cool is that!

But most exciting was the registration swag! We got a huge bag of stuff! Dog bowls, treats, toys, food, books, etc. You name it, it was in there. We even got a $30 gift card to Petco. Plus, since mom and Dad were both attending I got double of everything !!! And to top that off MaggieTKat’s mom gave me the dog stuff out of her bag too! So I’m set for a couple months on dog treats.

So after Registration I went to the GMCBarkNRide press event. I learned a lot! I learned I should be in a crate or doggie seatbelt at all times in a car. You human take the fun out of car rides don’t you?!?! But I know it is for our safety and well being in case you all wreck. I personally say you humans need to quit crashing so we can have the run of the car and stick our heads out the window! They also talked about how hot cars can get while parked .That day Atlanta was 95 degrees and inside the car was 167! That is scary for us doggies we could get seriously hurt or worse in a car that hot! Then they took photos of all the GMCBarkNRide participents. GMC was so nice to me and I got some treats and a doggie bag dispenser from them. They know us well..give us food and then a container for when it comes back out BOL!

Next it was back to the conference area for lunch..well lunch for the humans. I tried giving the puppy dog eyes but no luck

They had some wonderful sessions including Natalie Malazenko from Petco and my favorite Catherine Ventura about creating a distinctive social media voice. Catherine taught me that every blog needs a character (that’s easy it’s me!), a back story, a story and a goal. I learned a lot but by that time I was ready for my afternoon nap so daddy took me back to the hotel while mommy went to another couple of sessions. Her favorite quote from Shameeka Ayers The Broke Socialite was “even a poor dog wags his tail!” She said that we shouldn’t be afraid of promoting our site because we work hard to deliver a quality product to you guys so we should let people know what we are doing.
After my power nap I was back at Barkworld at the Networking Session and Activity with Taryn Pisaneschi. I was even porting my “I’m on facebook” tee-shirt. It was a hit!.

While the humans were busy learning how to network I was networking it the doggie way smelling a lot of dogs bottoms and saying hi!

After the session it started raining and raining so our movie in the park was canceled.  So I went back to the hotel and took another nap while my parents went out for dinner and shopped.
