Saturday Morning at Barkword (3 of 5)

Written by Rachel Phelps

(To catch up please read part 1) and Part 2)

Saturday started bright and early with the first keynote at 8:30 am. While the parents were eating breakfast I got to talk to Johann the dog’s owner and I got to try out some cranimals treats and they gave me cranberry supplements to take home. I also got to play some which mommy later learned wasn’t a good thing. I wouldn’t calm down when we got into the sessions. Yep I was the dog that was whinning, talking, and barking during the conference. Didn’t you realize with a blog named Preston Speaks that I really do talk and a lot! So I apologize to all the speakers who I interrupted. I promise my outbursts were barks of support . I was really saying your presentation rocks!!! BOL

I loved Sloane Kelley’s presentation “I see Fido..on Twitter??” I finally got to meet the famous James Bond the Dog ( and I learned that he even has Bond girls! How cool is that. That got me thinking I need some Preston girls..any takers? I also got to meet Hankthedoggy’s parent and sent home some of Owensboro’s famous BBQ mutton (it is sheep) from Moonlite BBQ with them. Their mom grew up in Owensboro..what a small world!

I ended up taking another nap this time in Daddy’s lap while the parents attended a couple more sessions for me. They took great notes so I still learned a lot!

Then it was lunch time. We sneaked away and went to café 19 down at Atlantic station because they had outdoor seating for us dogs. Mom and dad got some good sandwiches and I got bacon!!!

After lunch we were off to the petexpo! More to come…stay tuned!
