A Vote for Me, is a Vote for Dogs – Petties Best Dog Blog Finalist Acceptance Speech

Written by Rachel Phelps

“With profound gratitude and great humility, I accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States”… Oh wait I mean 2013 Petties Dog Blog Finalist.

Dear fellow pets, humans, and bloggers, it is with great honor that I Sir Preston Peabody Phelps (yep that is my AKC name … fancy huh?) graciously accept your nomination as one of the four finalists for Best Dog Blog.

The road here has not been an easy one.  I have been one busy blogging dog for the past three years.  I have worked around the clock (Ok, mostly, I put my rents to work around the clock) to deliver you my pals the best content this little dog can produce on the web.  I have traveled the country just for you!  I learned how to be a show dog (Preston, champion show dog attempt) and even subjected myself to dock diving (My Epic Fail at Dockdiving).  I also chased rats and visited many more dog parks than I can count on my paws to find the very best ones to report on.   I have played with countless toys, slept on numerous new dog beds, ate treats of all types, and even survived water torture (baths) to deliver informative and accurate product reviews for my readers.

It is because of this hard work and my loving fans that I stand here before you tonight … ok, I am really laying in my crate, but you get the idea.  I accept this nomination and commit to you my readers to seriously campaign for this important award.  I have assembled a crack team of exceptional campaign staff to get the word out to the readers to visit the polls (ok the website) daily to cast their votes.  We want YOU, the pet readers vote, to be heard and counted — no votes left behind!  I have opened an east coast campaign office and I plan to hit the campaign trail all over the country to meet you my readers.  I want to convince YOU that I am the best dog for this job!

If I am selected as the best dog blog of the year, I understand that with this title comes great responsibility.  I won’t be able to do the typical doggie greeting anymore of sniffing bottoms and I can’t hike my leg up in public.  But I am willing to make the sacrifice for you my fans!

The other three finalists are exceptional bloggers, no doubt.  However, I want to impress upon you that I am the only blog in this race written completely from a dog’s point of view, so a vote for me, is a vote for DOGS.  Who better than a dog to win the best dog blog?

I can’t do this alone – I NEED your help.  We need YOU to VOTE each and every day for me – PrestonSpeaks.com! Go to www.VotePrestonSpeaks.com to cast your vote now.   Also, join my Preston for Best Dog Blog Facebook group to be the first to know where my campaign trail is heading next.  My group will also have some behind the scene photos for my most loyal campaign supporters.

So I leave you today with a monumental task before me.  To make you proud of this little white dog from Kentucky who started out with just the fur on my back and a dream to be the best Westie I can be and create the best dog blog possible.

Just remember, a vote for me, is a vote for DOGS!

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless dogs.
