Galveston Beach Texas

Written by Rachel Phelps

When I flew to Houston recently for a pet expo, I found out I was really close to a beach.  I HAD to go.  I had only seen the ocean once before and that was in San Francisco, California —Day 3 – The Beach.

We packed up the flip-flops and drove about 45 minutes to the great beach town of Galveston, Texas.  We didn’t get there until a little before sunset but we still had plenty of time to play in the waves and walk on the beach.  There weren’t any signs saying “no dogs allowed” so we assumed it was ok for me to go out on the beach.  Plus, we saw other on-leash dogs on the beach.  Here are some photos of me having fun.

I even wrote my name in the sand (which is hard for a dog to do by the way!).  The one thing I couldn’t figure out though was where to find the off button for the waves.  They just kept coming and coming.  It would have been more fun if I wasn’t always looking out for the next wave!

I give Galveston, Texas two paws up … but as for the waves … not so much!  Seriously, how do you turn them off?!?!?!
