Iams Home 4 the Holidays Blogging for Bowls Blog Hop

Written by Rachel Phelps

Can you believe the holidays are quickly approaching? Well, with the holidays comes a great program I’m passionate about (and yes dogs can be passionate..have you ever seen us when we get our favorite treat!) the Iams Home 4 the holidays program! TODAY kicks off the 13th annual pet adoption drive. And I’m one of the blog hops co-hosts to promote this wonderful program!
But first you may be thinking what is the Iams Home 4 the Holiday? This is one of the world’s largest pet adoption programs. The program runs from October 1st though January 3rd and the goal is to find 1.5 million orphaned pets adopted in the the US and even the world. Over the past 12 years they have help adopt out over 5.8 million pets into loving homes (how awesome is that!) Iams and the Helen Woodward Animal Center (one of the most amazing forward thinking animal centers) is teaming up with more than 3,500 animal organizations to encourage pet adoption. Iams is also donating 5 million meals to animals in need waiting while they are waiting for their forever homes!

Also, new to the program is campaign ambassadors NASCAR driver, Ryan Newman and his wife Krissie. They formed the Ryan Newman foundation to educate people and encourage them to spay or neuter their pets as well the importance of animal adoptions. At Blogpaws (a pet blogging conference) I got to meet Krissie as well as Mike Arms, the CEO of Helen Woodard Animal Center, and learned alot about the IAMS home 4 the holidays program. I was a very well behaved doggie and I have to say both of them loved on me too! I told them thank you from all us dogs (and cats) for all that they do to save my pals lives! Here Is a photo of me with them (and Angela Morris on the right — an Iams employee)!

What you can do to help!

You can visit the Iams facebook page and like the page, various message, photos, video, etc. Pretty much just like something and for each like they receive they will donate a meal. Another really cool thing you can do is on their facebook page is create a custom adoption announcement because we really hope you will adopt!) or a card to send a holiday greeting. For each announcement/card sent another bowl of food will be donated by Iams.

You can also buy specially-marked packages of Iams dog or cat food and for each of those bags sold Iams will donate one bowl of food to a participating animal organization.

So you have no excuse to not help my pals out in the shelters! All you have to do is lIke IAMS..how hard is that!
