Recently, I attended a Westie meet at Cumberland Falls Kentucky and here is part five. To catch up please click doggie diary on the right.
After the costume contest it was time for dinner and I went back to my room to eat while my parents had pizza. They had put gates up in a patio area so we were able to run around and play. While we were busy being social with our new doggie friends our parents had a wine tasting and auction. Everyone brought items to put in the auction. There was so much neat Westie stuff and a lot of toys too. All money raised went to Westie Rescue Southeast. After some wine some of the parents went bidding happy. My parents bought a purse, a makeup bag, a shirt for me that says “I chase tail” and a beautiful print of a Westie on the beach. Mommy loves the picture and it is going up in her (and mine) room upstairs. Overall $1,600 was raised to help with rescue’s vet bills.
I was an ok dog for the evening but I was so tired so my westie attitude shined through. I went crazy when some other hotel guests decided they needed to play with some remote control cars and I had an accident that daddy had to clean up. I also got kicked out of my family for a while. I wanted to lie down with my parents but one dog Madison had other ideas. She decided she wanted to hang out with them and went after me any time I tried to go over. So I decided to hang out with Vinny’s parents and they were super nice to me. But they won a basket of dog toys and then Madison decided she needed to guard those and growled and snapped at me again. So I moved over to Romeo’s family and they let me hang out with them for a while. Madison was a little moody so I decided to let her have her way. After the auction it was time to go to bed and say goodbye to all my new friends. The next day we checked out of the hotel and they made us bring our TV remote with us to turn in with the key. Mommy thought that was very odd! We stopped back at the falls to do my photo shoot and then drove home. I was one pooped pup, but I already told mommy we are going next year!
