Westie M&G Cumberland Falls — Part 3

Written by Rachel Phelps

Recently,I attended a Westie meet at Cumberland Falls Kentucky and here is part three. To catch up please click the doggie diary on the right.

On the ride back from the train I slept and slept I was one tired puppy! But instead of going back to the hotel we went to Cumberland Falls. I wasn’t so sure about this place. Mommy said it was very pretty and we would do a photo shoot with me but all those rapids kinda scared me too. They made this loud roaring noises. So to get to the falls mommy and daddy decided to take the trail by the side of the river. That was a big mistake hehehehe. The river was actually very calm and very shallow (maybe a foot) right up until right before the falls. The current was also next to nothing as well. So when I went to sniff the water Mommy was ok with it. I even stuck a paw in just to see the temperature. Well, I was very hot and I thought what the heck I’m going in and off I ran into the water. I had my retractable leash on so they had a good hold of me. So at this point my feet were muddy but mommy still thought it’s ok his feet won’t show in the pictures. But then I found two kids playing and off I went. I ran, jumped, splashed, and chased these kids. They loved it and we all played. So needless to say I was soaked from my ears to the tip of my tail and a big muddy mess. So photo shoot was off. Mommy let me play for about 30 minutes and I had so much fun. I love the water! Mom did take a photo of me when we went to look at the falls. Mommy and Daddy took a lot of photos and then we went back to the hotel. Due to all the mud I had to get a BATH before dinner , yuck!
