Bad Humans

Written by Rachel Phelps

Mommy had a friend recently find newborn puppies left on the side of the road in a sealed up plastic shopping bag in 95 degree weather.  We were all horrified that someone could do that to innocent puppies.  Unfortunately, three of the dogs had already crossed over to the rainbow bridge but she was able to take the remaining 6 to the humane society to be carried for.
Recently, I read (ok Mommy read and told me about it) about a dog named Buddy, a German Sheppard mix, that was drug to death in Colorado. He was tied to the back of a pickup truck and forced to run up a steep hill for three miles in 2 inches of snow and 1,000 feet in elevation.  He eventually collapsed and was drug to death.  Which makes it worst is buddy had a great home and was stolen from the back of his owners pickup truck.  Due to video cameras at the site that buddy was taken too Steven Clay Romeo was charged with ruelty to animals.  However, buddy death was not in vain.  A facebook group was formed “Demand Justice for Buddy” and there are over 25,000 supporters many are involved in efforts to not let Buddy’s death happen in vein by volunteering at their local animal welfare groups and wearing shirts to get buddy’s story out to the masses.  Here is the link to the facebook group— Demand Justice.

Maybe you humans can help me understand but why do some people feel that they need to be mean to us and hurt us?  What have we done to you?  So I am asking for your help to be our voice and tell the world it is not ok to hurt us!  The easiest thing you can do is get to know us dogs and other animals in the neighborhood and keep a watch  on us.  If you see something wrong, we are too skinny, in poor health , see us get hit, etc. pick up that phone and make the call to animal control and let then know we need help.  We can’t use a phone and we can’t talk so it is up to you to be our voice!
