Introducing the Preston Cares Network

Written by Rachel Phelps

I have huge pup news.  I have decided it is time for this little white dog to make a difference in my own Westie way. As part of PrestonSpeaks.com, today I am launching the Preston Cares Network.  Over the past couple of years, I have attended amazing shelter makeovers, supported The Helen Woodward Center and Iams home for the holidays campaign, and raised awareness for many rescue groups as I travel the country with the Amazing Pet Expos.  I hope my posts show all of you, my pals, the dedication of rescues groups all over the country and that a few people who join together can make a difference in the lives of animals.  I have also featured animals up for adoption (including some of my foster brother and sisters) and helped to adopt them.  To help further this cause, I decided I wanted to form a network of caring people and bloggers to help animals.  Thus, the concept of the Preston Cares Network came to life.

My super awesome pal Missy, at Dogs for the Paws, was so excited about my idea she designed me a cool logo to use.  You know I have to have a logo … hehehe.  I am sure my concept of this network will grow with time, but my plan is to start with featuring dogs and cats that need forever homes.  I want my site to be positive, so there won’t be any of those “will die” posts or “must need funds by tomorrow” to save this cat, etc.  I believe that through positive posts, tweets, etc., we can make a positive difference in the lives of these animals.

I have decided to post an animal a day on my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and blog.  But of course, I need a cool theme, so … drum roll please:

  • Mutt Mondays
  • Too cute Tuesdays (puppies and kittens)
  • Westie Wednesday
  • Terrier Thursday (I have to support my terrier cousins!)
  • Feline Fridays

To be successful, I need your help!  If you’re a rescue group, and you would like me to feature you, please send an e-mail to PrestonCares@PrestonSpeaks.com.  Our plan is to have a directory on our site of all the rescue groups who are part of our Preston Cares Network.  This will be a great opportunity to gain additional exposure for your favorite rescue group or shelter.  I will also feature these groups from time to time.

This isn’t it for the Preston Cares Network though … I have bigger plans, but I have to keep those under wraps for now. But trust me, it will be awesome

Your Pal,
