It is Westie Walk 2012 time!

Written by Rachel Phelps

Do you live in Indiana? Or close enough to Indianapolis that you can drive in? Also, are you a westie or a friend of a westie (you’re my pal..so you count!) IT IS WESTIE WALK Time!!! On THIS Saturday, September 22nd from 9:30 – noon at the Riviera Club is the 4th annual Westie Walk of Indiana. I have been the last two years and it is a blast!

There is going to be SO much fun stuff to do including dog games. They are having musical hoops, longest tail contest (no comment..my tail is short I learned..but it is crooked..so I have an excuse), and a doggie kissing booth. TheraPets will be there too. They are a great group of dogs who do therapy work. A silent auction will be held with all funds going to Westie Rescue of Indiana to help little white dogs. We foster for them and they are an amazing group. They also give out awards for a photo contest (I entered, as did Elvis! We won best in show last year for our photo so we have to defend our title hehehe). There will even be a blessing of the dogs. Mom says it can’t hurt we like to get in trouble a lot. There is a parade of rescues (Elvis is walking in it as is my best friend and foster bro Charlie). This is Charlie’s first Westie walk so I can’t wait to show him around. PrestonSpeaks.com is a sponsor this year so we will have a table and I have gifts for all the dogs and humans who stop by and say woof! The big event of the day is we walk through a neighborhood led by bagpipes (how cool is that!) Last year there was 120 westies all doing the westie waddle through town. It was quite a sight to say the least! Little white dogs everywhere!!!

Here is my recap video from last year. See it is a lot of fun!

So if you live anywhere within a days drive you HAVE to come! It is so much fun and I want to hang out with you too! To register please go to: http://www.westiewalksofindiana.com/
