Hi my pals!  I have to share some wonderful news!  I am so excited my tail won’t stop wagging!  My pals at the Owensboro Humane Society (OHS) went to my county’s fiscal court meeting (the county elected officials) yesterday to receive a proclamation stating that December is the OHS / IAMS Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption month in Daviess County, Kentucky!  Also, last week, the City government of Owensboro, Kentucky made the same proclamation.  For those of you not familiar with what a proclamation is, it is a formal announcement made by a local government on a topic important to members of that community.  So this is a big deal to receive an official proclamation – especially for a whole month!

So next, if you haven’t been reading my blog every day (shame on you he he) you may be wondering what is IAMS Home 4 the Holidays?  This is one of the world’s largest pet adoption programs!  The program runs from October 1st though January 3rd and the goal is to get 1.5 million orphaned pets adopted in the US and around the world.  Over the past 12 years, they have helped adopt out over 5.8 million pets into loving homes (how awesome is that!)  IAMS and the Helen Woodward Animal Center (one of the most amazing forward thinking animal centers) is teaming up with more than 3,500 animal organizations to encourage pet adoption.  IAMS is also donating 5 million meals to animals in need while they are waiting for their forever homes!

I am so proud of the staff and volunteers at the Owensboro Humane Society for being recognized by our local city and county government.  Saving animals day in and day out is a selfless job.  These guardian angels unfortunately see our county’s animals who may be lost, hurt, abused, etc. and they all desperately need help.  The people at OHS are the voice for these voiceless animals in my community.  They work tirelessly day in and day out to help out my animal pals and find them forever homes!  So today I put my paws together for my animal heroes ..the Owensboro Humane Society!.

Your Pal,
