Seizure Assistance Dogs

Did you know that some very talented dogs can detect if a human is going to have a seizures ten to forty minutes before it happens? These special assistance dogs give people who suffer with seizure disorders the freedom to lead normal lives. There is a new TV Series that profiles ordinary people who overcome extraordinary obstacles and who are helping others lead healthier, happier lives. called Everyday Health. Tomorrow on your local ABC station they will be featuring an inspiring story about a man who has epilepsy meeting his new best friend: a service dog from Canine Assistants. What a doggie hero!   • I know I can smell when Ma is going to have a weakness in her legs or a headache that will cause her to black out. That is why I am her service dog. I once had to alert a worker at a store that ma had passed out. I tried to tell her that something was going to happen but she wouldn’t listen to me. Now she listens when I insist she sits down or lays down.

    I give a big paws up for all the working dogs!
