P&G Mason Campus

Written by Rachel Phelps

This Spring, mom was invited to attend an influencer summit sponsored by Iams and Eukanuba in Dayton Ohio. Unfortunately, I was not invited (no dogs at hotel). But anyway, I decided to let my mom go on the one condition that she gets an inside scoop on Iams pet care and she gives us full reports for my readers here on prestonspeaks.com Over the next couple of weeks I will feature blogs my mom has written about her experiences at the behind the blog influencer summit. To catch up read these blogs : Iams Research Center – Part 2, Iams Research Center – Part 1, IAMS and Animal Testing, Behind the Paw 2011 – Manufacturing Tour, Behind the Paw – Day One ,and Behind the Paw 2011

I know your probably wondering wasn’t that a while ago but mom was cleaning up her camera memory card and realized she never showed you the neat photos from her visit to the headquarters.

The Mason Campus is where several P&G divisions are headquartered including the Iams and Ekanuba divisions. When our bus pulled up to the front door it was very impressive and very large. We had the opportunity to talk to many of the pet food division employees including senior management. Here is a photo of the Q&A session.

Then they put us bloggers in the hot seat and they asked us many questions including what our readers concerns where, what we feed our dogs/cats and why, and what could Iams and Eukanuba do better as a brand to connect to its consumers. Next, we toured the offices and one neat perk of working there is you can take your dog to work with you. They have incorporated a pet friendly culture. I also loved that in their break room they have photos of all their pets up on the walls.

We love the name Sea Salt!!!

Here are some photos of the offices as well.

Personally, I felt a great sense of passion and pride of the P&G employees towards their pets. The animals are a part of their family and they want to help make a quality product that they are proud to serve to their animal family members. Since pet food is the largest category in packaged food for P&G the employees also had a sense of responsibility to keep their market share growing all while not compromising the brands values and standards. If you asked any one of them about their pets..out came the photos on their phone and each had a funny or heart warming story about their dog, cat, or in Jen’s case her donkey!!

Overall, this visit to Dayton Ohio was very informative, educational, and even fun with the bowling for bowls contest. I want to thank Iams and Eukanuba for allowing me to attend their Behind the Paw Summit to learn more.

P.S. This is the last post about the summit..I promise 🙂

  • Greetings from Yaxley, who you met at BlogPaws (yellow lab/golden pup wearing a Canine Companions for Independence cape). Yax is one of the those lucky pups that gets to come into the Mason office every day. But not to work, really. Mostly his day is, in this order, dog park playtime, then a nap under the desk, lunchtime in the dog park, then back under the desk for another nap. Sometimes he likes to mix it up a little and he’ll nap in a meeting. Thanks for the nice write up on our place, it really is pretty sweet.

But wait, Jen has a donkey?
