Pick of the Week — WestieMed, Inc.

Written by Rachel Phelps

Today I wanted to share with you guys a wonderful organization that helps out West Highland White Terriers in need. It is called WestieMed. It is an Internet-based, all volunteer, non-profit formed to distribute financial aid to injured or ill rescue westies. This is a great resource for people who want to help my breed out but may not have the financial resources to help them get the medical treatment they need. All rescued westies need the chance to have restored health and a better life. They operate through an application process where the rescue organization or foster parent applies for funds to help with treatment. They will consider any treatment that is non-routine. The dog can’t be terminally ill and they are or will be be spayed or neutered when they are healthy enough. There is also not an age limit on the dog so that is great to our senior westies who need homes.

To learn more about WestieMed visit www.westiemed.org. They are have a wonderful westie gift store where all proceeds go to the organization. So go check it out. I’ll happily accept Christmas gifts from there BOL!
