Westie Walk 2010 the Recap

All I can say is WOW!!!! What an experience! I had so much fun at Westie Walk recently in Indianapolis. We went up the night before after I got a haircut (bad haircut …they cut off my eyebrows! and did something weird with my tail!). So that morning we got up super early and meet Jolly and Annibel and followed them into Indianapolis. The walk was held at a local park. As soon as we got into the parking lot I looked out and there was little white dogs everywhere. I was so excited. So I starting crying to mom..open the door! open the door! They had so many fun events for us doggies. They had the longest tail contest and I learned that I am well “not well endowed in the tail area. I have a short tail only 6 and 1/2 inches. There were some dogs with over 8 inches. I blame it on my crooked tail. It is was straight I would have won for sure lol. They did musical hoops (like musical chairs) and obedience tests. But mommy knew I was so excited about all the other dogs that I wouldn’t listen to her so I skipped those. They had a big play pen for us. That was so much fun playing with other westies. Mom was glad she put a red shirt on me. It made it much easier to keep up with me. One mom was funny she couldn’t find her Westie and even said I usually only have to look for the little white dog..but they are all little white dogs bol.

They had a silent auction with all sort of neat stuff up for bid. I wanted this awesome bed. I even tried it out but mom and dad couldn’t figure out how to get it home in our little car. But we did win a portrait painted of our house with me in front of it. Mommy said it will go in our entry way.

They even had a blessing for us. One of my westie friends mom said anything to help us westies behave, you can’t have too many blessings you know 🙂 The minster blessed us and gave us a metal with the saint of animals on it. (sorry I don’t know the saint’s name ) so mommy put it on my collar to help me remember to be a good dog.

I got to visit with alot of my Westie United pals and their parents. I saw Vinny, Baby Caleigh (I have decided to call her Baby C since her mommy made up my nickname of Double P), Darby, Jolly, Annabel, Dailey Rose, and Duncon Tryon (DT). Here we are the WU gang!

The day ended with the westie walk. They even got a band of bagpipes to lead the march. That was really cool and I didn’t even bark at them! We talked through the park and the neighborhood. We had police escort that helped all 141 westies (and 19 non westie dogs) cross the streets. we were quite a site! Here is a  some photo from the walk!

After the walk we went over to Jolly and Annabell’s house on the lake for dinner (Jeanie you make the best hamburgers!) and to hang out and catch up with everyone. I got to hang out with Darby and Baby C too. I had so much fun! I can’t wait for westie walk next year. Actually, I think it would be neat to have a walk here in Owensboro I’ll have to convence mommy that she needs to plan it hehehehe.
