Westie Walk 2010

Written by Rachel Phelps

Tonight I”m leaving to go to Westie Walk 2010! Oh boy, Oh boy, oh boy. I can’t wait. This walk is being held in Indianapolis on the 25th (tomorrow). It is being hosted by Westie Walk of Indiana. This walk started with just a group of Westie owners who kept seeing each other on their daily walks. So they decided to host a walk together. It has grown every year and so far over 100 Westies have registered to attend on Saturday! Can you imanage 100 little white dogs all together having fun and playing! To walk it cost $10 and all money raised goes to Westie Rescue of Indiana and WestieMed. WestieMed, Inc., is an all-volunteer, IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation created to distribute financial aid to injured or ill rescued Westies. If we complete the walk we get a special walk medallion necklace to wear 🙂 There is also a photo contest that I entered. I have my paws crossed that I will win an award. There willl also be a play area for us. Mom jokes that with all these white dogs she may not be able to tell me apart and take the wrong dog home. I told her not to worry I won’t let her leave me! There will also be a Westie weiner dunk, a Westie kissing booth (I’m a good doggie kisser so I think I have this in the bag hehehe), and a parade of rescues.

After the walk I’m going to my Westie’s pal’s Jolly house from Westie United (www.dogster.com) for a mini meet and greet and lunch. I can’t wait to see my friends again from this summer!

Saturday will be so much fun and if your in the indy area (or willing to drive) stop by the Westie Walk (details here …www.westiewalkofindiana.com). See you there!!
