Recently, one of my westie dog friends named Hogan was in his human sister’s wedding. I saw the photos and he looked so dashing in his little bowtie. It made me want to be in someone’s wedding! Anyone need a ring dog?
Anyway, when the chance came to review the book, Wedding Dogs: A Celebration in Holy Muttrimony, by Katie Preston Toepfer and Sam Stall, I jumped at the chance. This book, which comes out in Mid April, showcases photos of dogs included in their parent’s weddings and receptions.
According to the New York Times, the new trend in weddings is to include us pets. Close to 5% of brides have a pet in their wedding party. Plus, at least 10% have their pets present even if they don’t have a direct role in the ceremony.
This is a great book to have around when you’re having a bad day. How can you not at least crack a smile when you see beautiful photos of a dog kissing the bride or an English bulldog who decided to play tug of war with his mom’s wedding dress skirt?
Plus, there is a website to compliment the book that has more photos of wedding dogs. You can even submit your photos as well. The site is www.wedding-dogs.com
Overall, we really liked the book! We encourage you to pick up your own copy of Wedding Dogs: A Celebration in Holy Muttrimony, when it comes out on April 16th here!
