When Fashion Meets Philanthropy – Great Gifts from World Vision (giveaway) – CLOSED

Written by Rachel Phelps

Christmas is coming up and we dogs have the same problems you humans have. We don’t know what to get our rents (parents). You humans are hard to buy for. For some weird reason you don’t like squeaky toys or bully sticks. So when my pals at World Vision told me they had the perfect gift for me to give my Mom I quickly accepted their help.

They sent me this beautiful African soapstone box hand-carved in Kenya. They told my mom could put her necklaces and rings in it. Well, she does have jewelry, so this sounded perfect! World Vision also told me that the artisans who make the boxes use sustainable resources and their carving helps to raise them and their families out of poverty. I think the box is beautiful and I just know she will love it!

soapboxWorld Vision also has many other handcrafted items from silk scarves made in Vietnam to mango wood beaded bracelets made in Java (it is an island … don’t worry I had to google it too … hehehe). Their holiday catalog has over 250 items ranging from $16 to $39,000 (that one is majorly out of my price range!).

Being a dog and all, I am very much involved in animal causes and issues such as homeless pets. Working with World Vision though has opened my eyes that you humans need to help each other more too. Human puppies (kids) need access to the vet (doctor), and enough kibble (food) and clean water in their bowls too. Not everyone can go volunteer, but we all shop – so let’s make a conscious decision on what we buy to help people.

Please go order a copy of the World Vision gift catalog to see all of these great items and consider ordering your holiday gifts there this year. To learn more, and to get a copy of the catalog, go here.

World Vision also wants my pals to have a chance to win this amazing box too.
