Canidae Treats Review

PrestonSpeaks.com review Canidae Dog Treats
Written by Rachel Phelps

Oh how I LOVE treats! After reviewing many treats over the years, I have gotten pretty picky about what I will eat. So when my pals at the Canidae natural pet food company asked if they could me some of their treats to try out, I was a little hesitant … until they told me about how unique they are. I had to say yes to doing a review, because I wanted to share these with you my pals here online!

They sent me two types:

  • Grain Free Pure Heaven Duck and Chickpeas. I admit, I had to ask Mom what a chickpea was (I am sure I am not the only dog who doesn’t know). They are seeds that are high in protein. These treats are grain and gluten free and are made in the USA. The ingredients include: Pea Flour, Potato, Cane Molasses, Duck, Chickpeas, Salt, Natural Flavor, Chicken Fat (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid), Sesame Seed, Avocado Oil, and Turmeric.
  • Bakery Snacks with Turkey, Quinoa and Butternut Squash. Yes, I also had to look up what quinoa is. According to the Internet genius called Google, quinoa is a species of goosefoot, which is a crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. Quinoa is high in protein and gluten free. These dog treats are also made in the USA. The ingredients include: Brown Rice, Pea Flour, Turkey, Quinoa, Butternut Squash, Chicken Fat (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid), and Natural Flavor.

My dog brother Elvis was in doggie heaven eating the bakery snacks. He has allergies and these treats didn’t have anything from the “don’t give to Elvis list.” For those who are curious, he is allergic to rabbit, duck, fish, cockroaches, a few types of trees, and wool. But he is not allergic to chicken, wheat, or corn. Yep, I know, he is one odd dog. Even his allergies are strange … hehehe.

Mom is also a fan of the Canidae treats because they are designed to easily snap into smaller size pieces. This makes them great for training! There are thirty to forty plus treats in each bag so they are a good value.

Overall, we loved the tasty Canidae treats and I give them two paws up!
