Sadly, by no fault of my own, my loving owner made the decision to let Westie Rescue of CA and 7 Western State take me into their caring organization.
Yes, am purebred spay/altered, female Westie, who has been well cared for all my life. But unfortunately, my elderly owner had been diagnosed with early onset of Alzheimer’s. It became overwhelming for her to handle her advancing mental condition and my medical condition too. See, I have Diabetes, totally managed and stable, but I need an insulin shot 2 times per day. Nothing different than humans, but given my owner’s diminishing mental capacity, it was difficult to keep me on schedule for shots. She double dosed several times that caused me to go into the Vet hospital. But I am more than good now…..rescue is caring for me, my needs and supplies. Whew!
