My pals, you know I’m a connoisseur of treats. I love all kinds of treats from crunchy treats, chewy treats, treat sticks, dehydrated treats, meat treats, vegetable treats … I know, I sound like Bubba from Forest Gump talking about shrimp … but you get the idea. My brother and sister cats (Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb) on the other hand, can be a little bit pickier when it comes to cat treats. I have seen them stick those little black noses up in the air to what I thought was a delicious treat! So when my pals at Hills said they had some new cat treats they would like my siblings to try out, I wondered how they would react.
First, I admit they were very suspicious when I tried to give them a treat. Honestly, I don’t blame them. I’m sure when they were little kittens their moms told them to never accept treats from any dogs. They probably told them it is a trick to catch them off guard so the dog could chase them. Even though I had the sincerest of intentions, it was probably sound advice. So I decided maybe Mom should give them some of the treats instead. Before I tell you if my cat siblings gave the treats their paw of approval, let me tell you a little bit more about the Ideal Balance treats they tried out.
Hill’s Ideal Balance Treats are made with all-natural ingredients like real tuna. There is no corn, wheat, soy, or added artificial preservative colors or flavors. If your cat is allergic to anything, you should also know they are grain-free. Plus, all of the treats are made right here in the United States. Most of the ingredients are sourced from the US and ALL the meat comes from USDA inspected facilities. The cat treat variety is called Crunchy Natural with Real Tuna cat treats.
Now, back to my brother and sister cats. What do you think they did? They sniffed it, circled it, and made Mom set it down on the counter and walk away. Then, once she walked away they ate all the treats! However, I had to keep my distance and make sure not to bother them. Pibb liked them so much he even started his annoying cute meow asking for seconds. Mom also mentioned that the package could zip back up so the treats stay fresh for next time.
I sneaked a bite of my own and I have to say from a dog’s perspective they were delicious and they smell very “tuna fishy”.
Overall, Ideal Balance cat treats received two paws up from Dr. Pepper and two paws up from Mr. Pibb!
