Did you know: Cancer affects one in three dogs and 50% of them will die from cancer?
OH MY DOG! Being a dog that is so scary. I can’t comprehend that 33% of my friends (and/or me) will get the big C. We have already been affected unfortunately. My foster brother Baxter had bone cancer. I still miss him every day that big grumpy old man. He was taken from us way to soon!
However, a new program has started to try to change that called Smile for a Cure. This pet portrait charity is dedicated to improving these states by raising awareness and funds to help find a cure to canine cancer.
So for a special promotional period out of the year, pet photographers donate 100% of their session fees to The National Canine Cancer Foundation, a non-profit, 501(C)3 dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health issue in dogs.
So what can you do to support the end of canine cancer? Get photos of us taken by a participating photographer. You know we all love to have our photo taken! Well maybe that is just me hehe..but anyway. So go to www.smileforacure.org to find a photographer in your area and schedule a photo session today!

So sorry to hear about Baxter. I’m very happy though to hear about this initiative. Two of my friends have dogs with cancer so it’s great to have a way to support them and other dogs battling cancer, though it may be indirectly. Thanks so much for sharing.
Such sad stats, but a great campaign!
