My 2013 Petties Non-profit Selection

Written by Rachel Phelps

Dog_Blog (2)As you probably know, my blog PrestonSpeaks.com is a finalist for an award for Best Dog Blog.  If you are behind, catch up here Finalist for a Pettie Award for Best Dog Blog – Please Vote!!.  If I win, I receive $1,000 to give to the rescue group(s) of my choice.

It has been very hard deciding which group or groups should receive the $1,000 grant if I win the award of 2013 Best Dog Blog.  I admit, I have been stressing over this decision.  I have met so many great organizations through my travels and I wish they all could win the money.  Also, I didn’t want to offend anyone if I didn’t pick their group.  So please, forgive this little white dog now. But please rest assured, I really, really, thought this over between my dog naps, walks, and playtimes.  I even consulted my brother Elvis on his opinion.  So finally, I have decided on TWO, and if I win, they will each receive $500.

Westie Rescue Southeast.
This is the great group that got us started fostering and being involved in the rescue world.  This is also where my brother Elvis came from as well as many of my foster brothers you have gotten to know over the years including: Baxter, Tommy, Dancer, and my best guy pal Charlie.  Elvis was very forceful in his opinion and told me that I had to pick them, I just had to, and I whole heartily agreed.

So, if you have read my blog for any length of time, then you already know I love all rescue groups … but westies are of course the groups nearest and dearest to my little Westie heart.

So just remember, a VOTE for me, is a vote for DOGS (and these two great groups)!  Also, don’t forget to vote today (and every day!).  Go to www.VotePrestonSpeaks.com to cast your vote!
