Ok, full disclosure. I’m a dog, and we love treats. In other words, when I’m approached to review dog treats I never say no! I have tried many treats over the years and I guess you can say I have an expert palette for dog treats. I can sniff a good treat from a yucky one. So when my pals at Zuke’s e-mailed me and said, “Hey Preston, we have these new healthy grain-free treats called Z-Filets in three flavors and we want YOU to try them out”, I hit reply with a huge, “YES, PLEASE!”
Zukes Z-Filets are grain free treats made with pure chicken, beef, or venison. All meat comes from the US or New Zealand and makes up 80% of the treat. I guess you can say they are more of a jerky-type treat than a dog biscuit. This is great for those dogs that are on limited-ingredient or grain-free diets. The treats also have nutrient-rich rosemary, sage, and turmeric. Zuke’s tells me these ingredients are powerful sources of antioxidants that help keep us healthy.
I put the Z-Filets treats to the ultimate test during my new training class! Mom tore the filets into smaller bits, which was perfect for a training reward. Yep, Mom signed me up for another obedience class (I am really starting to think she thinks I don’t know how to listen!). This time it is advanced commands that will help with competitive rally and obedience competitions.
The class was an hour long and I am a terrier so I get bored when I have to do the sit or heal command. Plus, they keep asking me over and over again to follow their instructions. Isn’t one time good enough?!?!? Despite all of this, the Z-Filets treats helped me keep focused for the whole hour. Also, I was finally able to show my teacher I could listen and be a good dog when I want to be!
These treats come in three flavors: grilled chicken, grilled beef, and grilled venison. They come in two sizes of re-sealable pouches: 3.25 oz. and 7.5 oz. Overall, I give these great treats two paws up!

Chicken!
I thing I would like the venison. It’s exotic an’ wild (like me). Also, I’ve heard that we are what we eat, so I imagine that eating venison would improve my running speed and jumping height.

Chicken was Sarah’s favorite until we tried the Venison, so Venison would definitely be her choice now.
Um we both like the chicken. Yep, I tried them because I love the way the herbs smelled. Yeah I am a picky eater and so is my dog, but I know this is healthier and cleaner food than a fast food place where no gloves are worn and cows get hormones. They are really good, and my dog thinks so too!
Huffle’s never tried venison before so we can’t totally be
sure if he likes it but we know he definitely likes chicken! Thanks

My dog is from West Virginia, a land overflowing with deer,
so I’m going to go with venison. Beef would be second, but she
isn’t picky.
Since you live where there are tons of deer I have to ask you a question. Mom says deer run out in front of cars all the time here in Kentucky do you guys have the same problem? Maybe our deer are just a little messed up in the head hehehe

My dogs like all three of the flavors. They actually love
all types of Zukes treats! I just got my puppy the Mini Naturals
Rabbit flavor and she loved them.
OK, I’ve only given my dog Zuke’s mini treats and she loves them. These Z-Fillets seem interesting. I’ll give them a try – but I’m not sure my girl will love them as much as she does a nice roasted chicken mini treat!
