Royal Canin helps Florida Little Dog Rescue (Giveaway) – CLOSED

Written by Rachel Phelps

Recently, at the Global Pet Expo, Royal Canin unveiled their new X-SMALL dry dog food. However, their launch had a twist. In addition to showing pet stores what they had planned with their product line, they helped a local rescue get not one, not two, but SEVEN dogs adopted to conference attendees.

Mom did admit she wanted to take one home, but Dad was the voice of reason and told her she already has five pets, (two dogs and three cats) no more right now (I was happy … I like being the center of Mom’s world hehehehe)! Even if you couldn’t take one home, Royal Canin donated a bowl of food to the Florida Little Dog Rescue just for you stopping by their booth. By the end of the conference, they had raised more than 2,500 bowls of food!

I had to ask Mom what is considered an X-SMALL dog for their new food. Mom told me “Don’t worry Preston, you’re a big dog since your eighteen pounds and all”. Actually, Royal Canin’s new formula is made specifically for dogs up to eight pounds. The pieces are made really small for their petite mouths. The new formula helps with healthy transit (digestion), coat conditions, urinary tract health, and dental health. Sounds like they thought of everything!

So PrestonSpeaks.com is helping get the word out on behalf of Royal Canin and is giving away a super “Doggy Day Spa” basket for one of my readers. The basket is valued at $80 and contains:

  • We don’t have dogs, just cats here, but my sister’s old doggie could certainly use some pampering! She’s getting to be quite the elderly lady!

  • Bella detests having baths…I do take her to the groomer when she needs a haircut and love that they have to deal with her and bath time. But I do give her all the other bathes…I suggest prepare everything before starting, thats what I’ve learned in my year with her and what she considers “bathtime torture.”

  • My dogs love getting baths from their favorite groomer. They aren’t fond of getting their nails cut, though!

  • I have so many dogs that I can’t afford to take them all to the spa! I do nail clipping and hair cutting/shaving myself! Im a rescuer too!

  • No he doesn’t. I don’t have any special tricks….it’s not optional (lol) so we just do it and get it over with!

  • Not sure my furkids would appreciate a spa day, but I’d love to win a Spa Gift Package to donate to my LAPCATS group for a raffle fundraiser. We’ve been operating out of a local PetSmart Adoption Center for the last 7+ years and are approaching our 1,000th cat adoption placement. The gift basket would be a fabulous raffle prize to offer our supporters!

  • My little Ginley does not like being bathed or groomed. In fact he has to go to the groomer tomorrow and I’m positive he’ll be miserable! When we give him baths at home, we try to keep him as comfortable as possible, he cries like a little infant! We’re quick to get him in and out as soon as possible. I always warm his shampoo before using it on him, because I’ve found that the cold feeling just startles him more. Our groomer is wonderful with him and she sets his appointments up early so there aren’t any other dogs and she can pay him extra attention. He’s a little miniature schnauzer, but acts more like a child!

  • My dog Buttons LOVE to be groomed. She is my first dog and until her I never realized a dog could love a day at the spa as much as any of us human girls. I’ve always had cats and they don’t tend to enjoy a bath. It’s nice to have one fur baby in the house who makes it easy. After a day of being primped and pampered Button’s knows she’s beautiful and takes full advantage of it. She’s one smart cookie 🙂

  • We have 2 male dogs who were both rescued as puppies. Cairo- Siberian Husky and Roman- Rough collie. We taught them young to let us touch and handle them by doing short, positive sessions with lots of treats. Now, they love it. My wife and I would love to win this for our special guys!

  • Duchess goes to the groomer once a month. My tip is to take her during the week, when the groomer is not as busy and Duchess is less stressed.

  • Both of my dogs absolutely hate bathtime! No real secret tips, except to close the door for those that escape!

  • Dink got her first bath today as a matter of fact. Turns out, not a big fan lol!

  • Presley loves to be pampered but would prefer I do it at home-not a fan of strangers washing him or especially cutting his nails.

  • My little alien pug does not like baths….but loves little puppy massages. 🙂 Thank you.

  • My little shih tzu loves to be bathed and groomed and get her nails done, she is prissy lol 🙂

  • We just got a new puppy, Trevi, and no her hates anything yet. At this point we have to go slow and keep doing grooming every few days. He is learning but doesn’t enjoy it.

  • Absolutely hates it. I’ve no tricks, I wish i did. Although when you tell her how pretty she looks after a bath she prances around.

  • I don’t have a dog but I give my 13lb cat a bath and I don’t need a gym workout afterwards, his brothers and sisters are easier. I would keep part and donate part to a IF I can win.

  • Our beagle loves to take a warm bath. He just sighs and gives us his biggest smile.

  • I just got a puppy 4 days ago so I am not sure what
he would like, He can all ready give us kisses.
