Gnawin’ Forever Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

gnawin forever3 238x300 Gnawin’ Forever Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)Ok, you know me, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, to review toys and treats, and the Gnawin’ Forever combines both!  I was sent one for dogs 25 pounds and over.  I’m close enough (I’m only 7 pounds under hehehe) and I think I’m a big dog so I just had to try it out.  The Gnawin’ Forever is designed so we have to chew with our front teeth instead of our powerful back ones to extend the time it takes to chew it up.  Hey now, isn’t that tricking us dogs and making it harder for us to get to the wonderful bacon flavored center?  I decided I was going to take the challenge and prove that I could get my back teeth on it. I tried, and tried, and tried, with no luck.  You humans outsmarted me!

The chew is made out of potato flour, rice flour, gelatin, ground peas, wheat bran, corn oil, cheese powder, propylene glycol, potassium sorbate (a preservative), and sodium bisulfate.gnawin forever1 245x300 Gnawin’ Forever Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

Your human can also buy more middles as well.  Those come in a two pack.  The package says it will last for up to two hours of chew time.  I’m at the hour and half mark and I haven’t made a dent in it.

gnawin forever2 300x260 Gnawin’ Forever Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

Overall, I give Gnawin’ Forever two paws up and a chew session.  I really like this chew!

The worst thing Bella has ever chewed would have to be one of our DirecTV remotes! It was completely random since she never chews anything else but that day. It still works amazingly though!

Maybe Bella was trying to tell you turn on Animal Planet please! :-)

I had a dog chew up a Stevie Ray Vaughn video tape. Mommie was not happy!

I do not chew on anything I’m not supposed to. But once when I was a puppy I was really excited to greet mom and I hung on to her coat by a tooth! I ripped it just a little bit but she was able to get it fixed. Now I only put my teeths on my chews!
Your pal, Cosmo

DUSTY: One time, I swallowed a Kong Toy… without chewing it up… but that’s another story, right, Preston?! HURLEY: I’ve been know to chew holes in dirty socks, but nothing worse than that. Scribe said that I made that “Sunday Socks”, because now they’re “holey”!

Reply

prestonspeaks February 17, 2012 at 2:29 pm

Yes Dusty that is another story! You’re not allowed to have kongs every again hehehe

Hey Preston! My best friend’s westie chews up EVERYTHING… he has totally destroyed all of the KONG toys that his ma buys him + he is now shredding the interior of her van and all of the carpet in her NEW home! He (and his ma) has taken doggie beginning training courses several times now and still hasn’t graduated…he is a very stubborn boy, but we all love him! We will not give up on him! Do you think that this Gnawin’ Forever toy might be good for him and give him something safe to chew on? Thanks, in advance, for any advice. Love your BLOGS! Your friend always, Debi

When I was a pup in Germany I chewed up a extension cord that was still plugged into the TV. Mom wondered if I got zapped because in Germany they have 220 not 110. Haven’t touched a cord since, It sure scared the heck out of Mom. ( You should also ask Mom how I turned blue hehehehe)

prestonspeaks February 9, 2012 at 8:29 pm

Dagobert when I was a puppy I chewed on a power cord as well. Scared the rents so bad they rushed me to the vet. I was fine but haven’t gone behind the couch since!

prestonspeaks February 17, 2012 at 2:27 pm

Oh my gosh Dagobert! Don’t freak your mom out! I admit I freaked mom out as a puppy I chewed a cord and got shocked too

Our dog Jasmine chews on everything…. what pisses me off most is she has chewed up ALL my lawn ornaments and digs in my flower pots that I have on my deck.

Last year my belguim malinois chewed up my car. She literally tore the passenger’s side seat apart, down to the frame. I never did find all the fabric pieces. Then another time she chewed the carpeting up on the drivers side. She is no longer allowed in the car. I still haven’t told him about the car. I just sewed it up as best I could and bought car seat covers. I still can’t believe our dog did that.

Howard’s favorite thing to chew on is cords. We’ve already replaced a Macbook cord and a car cellphone charger (he managed to chew that one up on just the short trip to Grandma’s house!). We’ve finally learned to hide them from him so hopefully there will be no more replacements in the future!

(he also enjoys chewing on the cat, who is appropriately named Chewie and does chew back.)

prestonspeaks February 17, 2012 at 2:26 pm

What a fitting name Chewie hehehe. My cats won’t let me close enough the chew on them.

when the girls get in the car with my husband they chew on everything they can get their mouths around. They don’t do it when I’m driving. They have toys in the back to play with. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for him to tell them ‘No”. o.0

My dog loves my reading glasses. He has chewed 4 pairs in one week. Every time I leave them on the nitestand, he grabs them and heads under the bed. He can disassemble a pair of glasses in seconds. He is 2 1/2 yrs old…I thought he would stop by now…guess not!

I think our dog(hes and English Mastiff) was real angry at us one time…as he found a book we bought about english mastiffs and decided to shred it to pieces…Otherwise he demolished a TV remote of ours once.

My dog has chewed up an entire couch… Literally the back part of the couch cushions. We came home and really didn’t even know what to say. We couldn’t even be angry, considering it was more funny than anything at that moment. Just… a 2 foot long gape into the back rest of the cushions…

And my laptop cable has been chewed on/chewed through a couple of times lol.
