Oh where to start! As I posted earlier mom went with the IAMS/Eukanuba blogging team to Blogher in sunny San Diego. This conference is over 4,000 female bloggers and a few brave men. Also this year was a small but elite group of flat pets that created quite the impression. You’re asking what is a flat pet? When a proud pet parent can’t take their beloved pet with them they have a photo cutout that travels with them. So we can be there and make sure we make it in all the photos. Bev from flattyler.com made a flat pet of me! She did such a great job!
The conference has a lot of workshops that mom and my pet blogger friends attended. Unfortunately, even though they promoted that the conference was for all women bloggers most of the sessions were all directed towards the mommy blogger world. Which we quickly learned was much more competitive and cut throat that the pet bloggers. Several sessions were also directed towards how to be a professional blogger. However, it was tips like don’t start tweet wars, don’t flake out, etc. Heck, I’m a dog and I get along with everyone (I don’t talk smack about the twitter cats) so you humans need to get your act together your making all us bloggers look bad!
There was a huge expo hall full of companies all wanting me to write about their products and gave us lot of stuff. Mom got some good swag and even won a digital picture frame from P&G. I know she will put photos of me and Elvis on it!
Not much pet swag. But Iams gave us some coupons for dog food and I got a stuffed animal “egg” from Eggland’s Best Eggs(that’s what I named him) that is my new favorite toy! But what lacked in pet swag they made up for it in flat pet photo moments. Here are a few of my favorites and I’ll be posting more tomorrow. I had fun taking photos!
There was a lot of private parties that I wasn’t invited to. I don’t get it! Who doesn’t like little white dogs? But Iams and The Honest Kitchen saved the day and we had our own private pet party complete with exclusive pet swag. It was called puppies and cupcakes. I was so pumped. Mom got Starbucks and cupcakes and I got lots of good samples from the Honest Kitchen and a cool new food bowl from Iams! I also learned that one of my photos I e-mailed in to Honest Kitchen with me sitting on their boxes of food is now on their break room’s refrigerator. How cool is that!
Now even through flat Preston got to go to Blogher, I (fluffy Preston) did miss having mom around. But she represented Prestonspeaks.com well! I’ll remember that on my mom’s mid year performance evaluation hehehe.
Disclosure- Iams did cover my travel expenses and hotel to attend the summit. However, Opinions are my own.
My mom person had very similiar experiences. Those mommy bloggers can be harsh!
Now it’s time for BlogPaws, whoot!
