Tornado Siren Dog Tips

Written by Rachel Phelps

Mom was telling her boss about how she has trained us for tornado’s and he said we should share this great tip with our readers. My town has sirens that go off when there are tornado warnings. As you probably guess those loud sirens hurt our ears! But we can usually hear them right away even before our humans do. I don’t get how you humans have such bad hearing hehehe. So my mom has made a game out of those sirens. She is afraid that in the middle of the night dad and her might sleep though a tornado warning. So every time the sirens go off she encourages us to howl and bark. She made it into a fun game and even howls with us sometimes. Don’t tell mom but she isn’t a good howler BOL! Sometimes we even get treats for howling. So now whenever we have a warning Elvis and mine’s job is to bark, howl, and make a ton of noise to make sure our parents know they need to take cover (and take us with them).

Your Pal,
