My pal Bev from IAMS just told me about a really neat trip she just took to New York City (I really want to go there someday…I hear it is very pet friendly) to attend the Bideawee Ball. I bet you are thinking what is that? Bideawee is one of the oldest animal rescue/welfare organization serving the New York metropolitan area and Long Island area. They have been around for more than a hundred years (yes, they are really, really old hehehe) They are also a non-profit and 100% of their funding comes from private sources. So how does IAMS fit into this? They are a huge supporter of Bideawee! IAMS was recognized for their amazing “Home 4 the Holiday” 2010 campaign, more than 1.1 million pets were adopted and 5 million meals were donated by IAMS to shelter and rescue pets in need. They have also donated 17 tons of pet food, provided financial support, and helped raise the visibility of Bideawee through partnerships activities in the NYC media event.
From what Bev told me it sounded like a huge deal with over 300 guests/animal lovers from the NYC business, social, and celebrity communities. At the IAMS table there were several NYC/east coast bloggers including Caroline Golon of BlogPaws and romeothecat.com, Michele Hollow of PetNewsandViews.com, Carol Bryant of FidoFriendly.com and Lana Vitsup of Petside.com. Here is a photo from the website of the IAMS guests.
So us at Prestonspeaks.com wants to say congratulations to IAMS. The award is well deserved and we thank you for helping getting pets adopted from shelters and rescues through out NYC !
I had no idea that IAMs made all those donations – thank you for sharing this info! All the best, Katie from westiejulep.blogspot
