Tommy – The Interview

Written by Rachel Phelps

Having a brother has been great! I finally have a pal to hang out with and do doggie stuff with. So I decided for my blog today I was going to interview my new foster brother.

Preston: Hi Bro…thanks for agreeing to an interview. I know your very busy sleeping and chewing on bully sticks so thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak to prestonspeaks.com

Tommy: No problem Preston..I’m your biggest fan..I check out your website every day.

Preston: So let me jump right into the questions. How did you end up here at my mommy and daddy’s house

Tommy: Well I don’t remember much..I was in pretty bad shape but I lived down in Georgia and ended up in a kill shelter down there..gasp! I knew my time was limited because other dogs around me would leave their cage and not come back. But thanks to the great people at Westie Rescue Southeast they were my knights in shinning armor. They sent someone to spring me out of the joint. I then went to the vet where they did a bunch of tests on me that I passed with flying colors..no heartworm. Then I made my way to Nashville to Miss Sherry’s house and then finally to Kentucky to stay with you.

Preston: So how to you like staying in a foster home?

Tommy: Oh Preston I love it! You have the best mommy and daddy! I have been able to just be a dog and play with you and not worry where my next meal is coming from! It took a while for me to open up and trust you all but I’m coming around. I’m getting plenty of great food and tons of treats to fatten me up. And I discovered chew sticks and bully sticks!

Preston: So what are you looking for in a forever home?

Tommy: Hmm that’s a tough question Preston! I want a home where most importantly I’m loved. Where my new pet parent or parents rush in the door after being away and say Tommy where are you and I run into their arms and give them a big lick on the cheek! It would be great if they had another Westie or terrier so I had a pal and if they had cats it would be ok too. I’m getting use to your three cats Preston. I hope they like to cuddle and don’t mind me snuggling with them. I also love to sleep on the bed too so that would be awesome if I could sleep with them at night. I like car rides so it would be fun if they took me on rides every now and then. If they lived close to you Preston that would be awesome so I could still come and visit and play with you too!

Preston: Anything else you want to share with readers bro?

Tommy: Just to not count out us rescues! We may not be puppies but we have alot to offer so if your looking for a new pal, consider us!

Preston: Thanks Tommy for the great interview and readers if your interested in learning more about adoptions, rescues, or even adopting Tommy contact me at preston (at) prestonspeaks.com

  • Preston, (and Rachel),

Good morning, my name is Brenda and I am owned by several loving westies that take very good care of me. I don’t think that I could manage without them. I’m not sure that we have ever met, I’ve been a Westie Med and Westie Resuce supporter for many years. Became involved when I began showing and being owned by westies.

I have been contacted by a former childhood neighbor – her and her sons have been friends of my family for many years; but it was a surprise to hear from her. I currently have no westies for placement, foster or any of my own, and her son, now grown with two kids of his own, is wanting to adopt and provide a loving home to a westie. If Tommy is still looking for a home this would be an excellent home. I’ve no doubt about how much love he would receive.
Feel free to contact me *****
    Many westie blessings and westitudes,
    Brenda
