Recently, on a road trip with the parents to St. Louis I got to go on my first family meal together. Us doggies are usually not allowed in restaurants…. those silly health codes and all! Mommy did her research (she is great at googling) and found The Boat House in St. Louis Forest Park. This restaurant is set on the lake and had a big patio for outdoor dining. When we arrived a little after 9 pm I was in doggie heaven..I got greeted at the door with a doggie bowl filled with water! They had a band playing and it was so loud and of course they sit us right by the band. I kinda freaked out (mom says the band was good..but they just hurt my ears) but they were so nice and quickly reseated us as far away from the band as possible. What was so great about this place is the ducks!! Lots and lots of ducks that would swim right by me. I was so ready to get me one of those but mom kept a good grip on me and I only barked a couple of time to let them know I was there. So the waiter came and he brought me some dog treats!!! When it was time to order I was all ready..I wanted a steak, chicken, bacon, watermelon, and some ice cream to top it off. But daddy wouldn’t let me order anything! It was so unfair! Little did I know but they brought me my food from home. 🙁 But the waiter brought me a real plate to eat off of so that was kinda neat! I was all high society dog. No plastic or metal bowls for me hehehe. My parents got dessert too—Warm banana and ale bread pudding to share..it has a wonderful sauce. The tables are metal with holes in them , so if any sause dripped it went through the table and on me! So I was able to get a taste too..it was yummy! Mommy and daddy said the food was delicious (way to rub it in parents!) and very reasonably priced. So next time your in St. Louis stop by and bring your dogs too! Also, tell the ducks Preston says Woof!
Hey, Double P! That IS a cool place! Some of us ate there after the Missouri Meet & Greet a few years ago. I give it four paws up!
