I got an odd package recently in the mail.  Being the Internet dog sensation I am, I get a lot of mail from companies … but this package was different.  It had treats made from alligator.  At first I was thinking, oh gosh, alligators are scary and mean.  They eat us dogs if they get a chance.  So their meat has to be tough and yucky.  But being the treat expert I am, I had to try them out to report back to you.

They sent me a package of Louisiana Alligator with Blueberries Jerky treats and a package of Louisiana Alligator Dog Biscuits.  These treats are wheat free, corn free, soy free, no artificial ingredients, and made entirely in the USA.  I have to say, these treats are very yummy!

These treats made by Delca.  They have a whole line of alternative protein source treats made out of alligator, crawfish, shrimp, and crabs.  I asked them where they get their meat, and my new pals at Delca said they source them straight from the sustainable family farms and fisheries in the Louisiana bayou.

Mom explained to me that these treats are great for pups that have allergies like most Westies.  Many dogs cannot have chicken or beef but they may be able to have this alternative protein source instead.  I have many Westie pals who have a lot of allergy issues, so I am thinking they need to try alligator too!
