ThunderLeash Product Review

Preston and ThunderLeash
Written by Rachel Phelps

When we first heard about this new product called the ThunderLeash, I was very intrigued.  I mean, how can a leash go from just being a regular leash, to quickly becoming a no-pull harness, and then quickly go back again?

Well, our friends at Thunderworks (they also make Thundershirts) sent us one to try out.  Somehow, they must have known that at times I can pull on my leash.  Can you really blame me though?  My mom just isn’t walking fast enough to keep up with me.  It can’t be my fault at all … hehehe.

So off we went on a walk to test this leash out.     In regular leash “mode”, Mom said it was comfortable to hold.  She also liked that it was a color blue which could be used for both boy and girl dogs.  What really makes this leash special is that in a few seconds, Mom can convert it to a no-pull harness.  All your rents have to do is wrap the leash around the dog’s torso and slip it in the buckle.  Here is a diagram to better explain how it works.

The leash comes in two sizes: small (12-25 pounds) and large (25 pounds and up).

I admit, when we tested it, it did stop me pulling right away.  Mom said this would be great for dogs that pull in certain situations.  For example, in our neighborhood there are some big dogs that live on the other side of a privacy fence.  On every walk, I always try to pull to make my way over there to say hi.  So with the ThunderLeash, we could start with it setup as a harness until we get past the dogs behind the privacy fence.  Then, Mom could quickly change it back to a regular leash.

Overall, I give the Thunder Leash two paws up because it allows us to go on more walks and the rents can better control me when needed.  Also, there is no need for our rents to have to buy both a harness and leash now.  That extra money can go for more dog toys or treats ! J
