Doodie Pack Review

Written by Rachel Phelps

While on my Cross County Tail Waggin Tour, I put the Doodie Pack to the ultimate test with a hike in the back country of Utah’s Great Salt Lake!  See, I’m so serious about testing out products I go across the country just to give you accurate reviews … hehehe.  Actually, I was out there for a conference, but still, it was a working trip.  I know what you are thinking … what is a Doodie Pack?  It is a doggie backpack!

Doodie Pack is a lightweight, highly functional, and durable dog backpack.  It comes in three sizes – small (8-20 pounds), medium (25-60 pounds), and large (60-180 pounds).  It comes in nine different colors including purple, red, teal, yellow, pink, orange, green, sorbet, and blue.
utah34Each pack is American-made, features multiple pleated pockets, a perimeter of reflective safety tape, and three adjustable straps for a custom fit and to keep the load stable for us doggies.

What I liked most about the Doodie Pack is the U-cut design.  It is designed to lie on our back very comfortably and didn’t bother me when I walked.  When I had my pack on I felt like a working dog.  I was a dog with a purpose!

At Salt Lake, doggies are not allowed on most of the trails so we had to go on the backcountry trails.  I put on my Doodie Pack and off we went.  According to the guidelines, are we are only allowed to carry 25% of our weight.  For me, that is 4 1/2 pounds.  Needless to say, I didn’t get stuck carrying all the water bottles … hehehe.  Instead, I was the official trail map, poop bags, and car keys carrier.   The map and keys part was my idea.  This made me a very important hiker on this trip.  They couldn’t lose me or they wouldn’t have gotten home … hehehe.

Overall, I give the Doodie Pack two paws up and a long hike!  To get your own pack, go to: http://www.doodiepack.com/
