National Keep Pets Safe in Winter Day

Written by Rachel Phelps

This year Norton Salt’s Safe-T-Pet brand ice melt announced that it is partnering with the ASPCA to do a public service campaign to promote pet safety in winter weather.

Hi my pals, here in Kentucky the leaves are falling (they are fun to chase) and when mom was straightening up the garage this weekend she came across the snow shovel. It is almost time to get that out and deal with the nasty cold and wet weather winter throws at us. As a dog, snow is not fun at all. How would you feel having to walk through snow up to your belly every time you had to do your business?!?!? But our friends at Morton Salt has a neat winter awareness program that I wanted to tell you all about.

This year Morton Salt’s Safe-T-Pet brand ice melt just announced that it is partnering with the ASPCA to do a public service campaign to promote pet safety in winter weather. This product is pretty neat! It does all the same stuff as a regular ice/snow melt but it is safer for us pets and our feet because it is non-toxic chloride-free. As part of this partnership they are donating $20,000 to the ASPCA and for every new facebook fan that likes them they will also donate a $1 up to $55,000. How cool is that! Also their facebook site has pet safety tips on how to reduce winter weather-related pet injuries and deaths. So go go to their page now and click LIKE www.facebook.com/mortonsalt

So I will leave you with a photo of me in the snow..I know I look cute in my hoodie hehehehe!

Your Pal,
