P&G Pet Care and its employees are pet passionate people who deeply care about the well being of dogs and cats. As a result of the disaster in Japan, thousands of lives have been lost and families have been forced from their homes

As a Company, P&G has committed up to $1.2 million in support for Japan tsunami and earthquake relief which includes monetary and product donations. Product donations include diapers, feminine hygiene items, hair care products, pet food, and skin care products. In addition to this pledge of support, P&G Pet Care has activated the Friends for Life Fund, and will match all donations received through April 30th (or up to $50,000).  This potential $100,000 donation towards pet aid relief is in addition to the 1.2million already committed by P&G.

The Friends for Life Fund is established through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation to give pet lovers everywhere the opportunity to donate towards the pet aid relief efforts in Japan. One hundred percent of the donations will benefit the non-profit animal welfare organizations that have been affected by this natural disaster in Japan.

Helping pets in need resulting from natural disasters is something we have always done, because we care deeply about the lives of dogs and cats. In the past, we’ve provided food and financial support for dogs and cats during the hurricane disaster in the Gulf Coast region in 2005, the Florida hurricanes a year earlier, and the California Wild Fires in 2003.

The funds collected will be used for whatever is needed to ensure the health and care of pets affected by the disaster in Japan. A P&G Advisory Committee will be working with the Japan Pet Food Association to determine where to distribute the funds.

Information on several ways to donate can be found on the Friends for Life Fund website:  http://bit.ly/FriendsForLife
