Today I wanted to write a lighthearted blog about famous dogs. Please help me add to this list by commenting below.
- Benji — He kicked off the dog movie trend in the 70’s. Benji was actually Higgins who had a lot of fun adventures! Higgin was a mix breed shelter dog who unfortunately died in 1975 just as his film was released and he became famous.
- Sandy — The dog in Little Orphan Annie.
- McGuff the Crime Dog — you don’t want to mess with McGuff because he will take a bite out of crime
- Yo Quiero Taco Bell — Gidget became famous with the very cute taco bell commercials.
- Marlie and Me — what a great movie! But mom won’t let me watch the end of it. So the last part of the movie I have seen is when Marley goes up north to his new home. Mom told me he lives happily ever after……..
- Marmaduke — what a cute movie and comic strip. I have two Great Dame Pals Zander and Bella and they are so much fun! I always wonder what is like to be a big dog for a day hehehe
- Clifford — Who can forget Clifford the big red dog
- Goofy and Pluto — Micky’s friend and side kick. If anyone knows why Goofy stands on two legs and talks while Pluto can’t please post
- Otis from Milo and Otis– This dog rocks..in his encounters he comes across not one, not two, but TREE bears, crosses a scary swamp, and even falls in a hole!
- Rin Tin Tin — Canine Cop – he even did his own sound effects on his radio show back in the day. Then Rin Tin Tin (well Jr. actually..there has been several German Shepard’s over the years) had a very successful TV show on ABC in the 70’s
- Toto — you can’t forget the little Cain Terrier who was Dorthy’s sidekick from the Wizard of Oz. But I still think she should have had a westie instead
- And finally the most famous beagle of all time SNOOPY!
Did I leave any dogs out..post here and let me know
