As an Amazing Pet Expo official blog ambassador we learn about wonderful animal rescue organizations that will be at upcoming shows. Pet Orphans is one of those that will be at the Southern CA Expo show on February 9th with great animals available for adoption.
Pet Orphans is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of companion animal welfare and to combating overpopulation, abandonment and the need for euthanasia. They have been rescuing, rehabilitating and placing animals in loving “forever homes” for 40 years. POSC provides broad community support through our Humane Education program, and our diverse client services (medical/financial, spay/neuter, training assistance, and counseling to encourage responsible pet guardianship and reduce animal abuse.)
Elvira is a female Chihuahua Mix
OK, I’m a chihuahua blend like lots of other dogs, but have you ever seen such interesting markings? That alone makes me stand out from the crowd. I’m a very sweet girl but kind of shy at first. I warm up quickly, though, and then I love to cuddle and go for walks and things like that. They’re trying to take me for lots of walks here because they seem to think I’m a little overweight. (I’m not fat, I’m big boned!) Anyway, I’m really anxious to get into my forever home, so come soon, OK?
Baron a male Doberman Pincher
The breed standard of the Doberman Pinscher notes that “he is elegant in appearance and reflects great nobility and temperament…”and Baron embodies all these qualities. Though a victim of long-term abuse and neglect, we are working with Baron daily to re-instill his trust in humans. Every day Baron demonstrates his resiliency as he develops into a total “Velcro dog”, happiest when he is right by his person’s side. He is still cautious and somewhat tentative in new situations but as his confidence in the people around him grows, this behavior should diminish substantially. He is an extremely intelligent dog with a strong desire to please which will make training him a pleasure and he would excel at a variety of dog sports including obedience, agility and rally. He has shown no dog, food or resource guarding aggression. As a large, energetic dog, Baron would be best suited to a home with a sizable, securely fenced yard. Baron would match well to adopters with an active outdoor lifestyle, either and individual or couple or even a family with children old enough to be sensitive to his developing trust in humans.
