Preston’s Pick of the Week — PawPawty

Written by Rachel Phelps

I’m new to the whole world of Twitter (which you need to follow me at www.twitter.com/Preston_speaks) and after being guided by my pall Maggie the cat I discovered the animal community on twitter is a very tight knit group and they love to pawty! Pawpawty that is. This unique charity fundraising campaign has been able to raise over 37,000 for Pet charities worldwide in just 18 month.

Their website (http://web.me.com/lynnh/PawPawty/PawPawty_Home.html) says a pawpawty is:

A PawPawty is a virtual ‘party’ held once a month on Twitter where anipals have fun and raise money for animal charities. It is like having a real ‘party’ but everything takes place in the Twitterverse. There are lots of new pals to meet, fun pawty food and drinks to sample as well as music to listen to. We share photos, sing, dance and have contests where you can win great pwizes.

Each pawty lasts all weekend so you can drop in when it is convenient for you and each one has a theme such as a beach or Vegas. I haven’t been able to make it to one yet since I am still figuring out the whole twitter world but I look forward to attending in September. I hope to “tweet” you there!
