Hi world! I hope you are enjoying a cooler summer than me! Here we have had temps in the 90’s almost every day and with the heat index it makes it well over 100. So I haven’t been allowed outside much (mom says I will get too hot and have a heat stroke..but I’m convinced she doesn’t like to sweat! I’m so bored! It even got to the point that I started licking my front paws. So the parents decided something had to be done and did some research on how to keep me occupied. Here are some fun indoor activities she found!
- Food Dispensing Toys. My personal favorite is my Kongs stuffed with canned dog food frozen. If you freeze it, it is harder for the doggie to get the food out, thus keeping us occupied longer.
- Laser Pointer! What is the deal with the red light that keeps showing up all over the place but disappears as soon as I get to it! Plus, that light is so fast! My brother and sister cats love to play with the pointer as well. It is the one game they don’t mind me playing with them!
- Fetch! A classic doggie game but a goodie! Mommy has started throwing my toys down the stairs. I run down the steps and then back up again and it wears me out more quickly. It is cardio for dogs!
- An Outing! Granted it is too hot to go outside but mommy and daddy will take me on car rides to pick up a newspaper or to go through a drive thru. If a store will allow me to go in like Petsmart or Lowes they take me along as well. One article mommy read suggested taking your dog to the vet just to visit and get treats to show the dog that this place isn’t always bad. However, I like going to the vet and getting all the attention.
- Bubbles! Dogs love to try to pop bubbles. Whenever my parents go to a wedding they always take home the wedding bubbles and since they are usually smaller bubble wands they are a perfect size for us little white dogs!
So you doggies go have fun even if you are stuck inside! Now where is mommy?…we can play with the laser pointer now…….
I LOVE BUBBLES!!! Mommy is always saying that we should have an indoor dog park. Its a dream she has and hopes she can open some day. With an indoor track and agility course, a doggy day care, and a private room that can be rented for 1 on 1 indoor play time or doggy birthday parties. I really hope she can open it someday, but mommy said its gonna be a looooooong time.
Jax if your mommy opened it I would be a regular..it sounds like so much fun!!!
