Disney’s FRANKENWEENIE

Written by Rachel Phelps

We are a big Disney family (I have a Mickey dog polo and official Disney dog toys) so we were SO excited when we heard a new Disney movie was coming out soon.  Plus, one of the main characters is a DOG!!!

The movie is called FRANKENWEENIE.  It is inspired by the director Tim Burton’s own relationship with his dog as a kid.  For you cats out there who don’t have time for movies because you’re to busy grooming ALL the time, Tim Burton was the creative genius behind Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

This movie is a black-and-white, stop-motion, animated film that follows young Victor as he deals with the unexpected loss of his dog Sparky.  He tries to bring Sparky back to life so he can have his best K9 friend back.

The movie hits U.S. Theaters on October 5th.  We have been invited to an advanced screening of FRANKENWEENIE, so I hope there is one close enough that we can go and give you the full report of how we liked it.  I also hope they allow dogs to attend because I’ve never been in a movie theatre before.  I wonder if I weigh enough to keep the movie seat from closing up on me!?!  YIKES!
