BlogPaws 2012 part 1- Thursday

Written by Rachel Phelps

BlogPaws 2012 was the first stop on my PrestonSpeaks.com Cross Country Tail Waggin Tour.  This year it was held in Salt Lake City, Utah.  So I packed up my chew sticks, my treats, my toys, jumped in my carrier, and off we went on an airplane.  After a full day of traveling we finally arrived late at night.  Needless to say, I didn’t see much of the sites other than the patch of grass for doing my business outside the hotel.

Anyway, over the next couple blog posts I want to give you a breakdown of my weekend.

The conference began with us registering and then we attended a top secret practice meeting for the flash mob that was being held the next day.

Dad attended the video production workshop presented by Kenn Bell who created “Hero Dogs of 9/11.”  It was a great class that showed how to tell your story with video and even got into some technical details like lighting and different types of camera shots.

What did I do? First, I was subjected to a BATH?!?!  Mom said I had to smell good for the conference.Dog getting a bath  Then after I dried off, I took a nap to rest up for all the excitement at the conference kick-off that evening.

BlogPaws started with a bang … well a skateboarding dog named Tillman.

He is the world’s fastest skateboard dog.  He is the MVP of the Natural Balance Pet Foods Canine Sports Team.  I was so impressed with his abilities that I told Mom I wanted my own skateboard! Preston and Tillman at Blogpaws  I even got a chance to chat with Tillman in the expo hall.  He says he loves traveling around in his bus getting to skateboard and meet so many people and other dogs!
